I qualified in 1989 and have worked as a doctor in the NHS since 1991. In 2003 I was appointed to a Consultant post in Bristol.
Nationally, I am especially recognised for my skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery in particular the surgical treatment of women with Fertility problems, Fibroids, Ovarian cysts and Endometriosis. At Southmead Hospital, we are proud to be one of the few accredited centres in the UK and the only one in the South West providing advanced training in laparoscopic surgery. I also provide specialist care in my NHS clinic for patients with recurrent miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies.
My research interests have lead to numerous international publications and the attainment of a PhD. I am often invited to speak at meetings & courses both Nationally and internationally, and am immensely proud of my contributions to patient care in both the NHS and private sectors including the establishment of an IVF centre (BCRM) at Southmead Hospital and an HFEA Licensed Fertility Unit at the Spire Bristol Hospital.
I am a recognised trainer for gynaecological ultrasound scanning enabling several training doctors achieve competencies required for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the British Fertility Society. I have also written a book chapter in this field and lectured on courses.
I am a member of the Royal Colledge of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG), Bristish Fertility Society (BFS), Bristish Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), European Society for Human Reproduction and mbryology (ESHRE). I also serve as a committee member on the training committe of the BFS and act as medical performance assessor for the General Medical Council (GMC),
